Guide

Guide (read in ~3 minutes)

Use 120 minutes when you’re ready for deep progress. Decide the break before you start.

Best for

  • workshops & classrooms
  • research sessions
  • creative flow
  • study marathons with breaks

Quick setup

  1. Name one outcome (one sentence).
  2. Set boundaries (Do Not Disturb, put phone away).
  3. Start the timer and stay on one task—no switching.
  4. When it ends, write the next step in one line.

Principles

  • If–Then start: “If it’s time, then I do X.” This reduces friction and increases follow-through. Study.
  • Timeboxing: give the task a container (this 120-minute block) instead of “until it’s done.” It lowers perfectionism and helps you finish. Guide.
  • End ritual: stop on purpose, note the next step, then take a real break.

FAQ

Does the timer start automatically?
Yes. When you tap “Start 120:00”, we open the timer with a preset and autostart enabled, so the countdown begins immediately. If you prefer manual starts, open the app and start from there.
What time formats do you support?
You can type durations (10m, 90s, 1h 10m) or clock formats like mm:ss (10:00) and hh:mm:ss (01:15:00). If you enter a plain number (e.g., 10), it’s treated as minutes. This keeps quick presets fast.
Can I go fullscreen?
Yes — press F for fullscreen and Esc to exit. Fullscreen is great for focus, classrooms, and cooking because you can see the time from across the room. On mobile, fullscreen depends on the browser.
How do I pause or reset?
Press Space to pause/resume. Reset requires two presses of R (or the Reset button twice) so you don’t wipe a session by accident. This is especially useful on touch devices.
How should I use this for time management?
Pick one micro‑outcome before you start (one sentence). Then timebox: for this block, you do only that — no switching. When the timer ends, write the next step so restarting later is frictionless.
Will ads interrupt the timer?
No. Ads are shown outside the running timer view so the countdown stays clean and readable. Fullscreen keeps the timer distraction‑free.
